The Vodun National Day, traditionally celebrated every 10 January, has undergone a profound transformation to give rise to Vodun Days, now recognised as the world’s leading international event dedicated to Vodun arts, culture and spirituality.
The National Vodun Festival, traditionally celebrated on 10 January, has undergone a profound transformation to give rise to the Vodun Days, now recognised as the world’s leading international event dedicated to Vodun arts, culture and spirituality.
Building on this success, Vodun Days 2026 took place from 8 to 10 January in Ouidah, as part of a first-of-its-kind three-day event. The event offered a rich and diverse programme, ranging from entertainment in the town’s central squares and on the beach to the Grand Vodun Ceremony, as well as concerts, performances and a host of other surprises, offering the public an ever-deeper immersion into the heart of this unique living heritage.

The Vodun Days village
The Vodun Days village offered a diverse experience with numerous stalls showcasing art, fashion, crafts, culture, spirituality and many other themes. Visitors were able to explore a variety of unique creations and discover a wealth of artistic and cultural expression. Catering areas were also available, offering a selection of food and drink to ensure participants’ comfort throughout the festivities. This village proved to be a true hub for discovery and socialising.
