An immersion in the heart of Vodun arts, culture and spirituality
The Vodun National Day, traditionally celebrated every 10 January, has undergone a profound transformation to give rise to Vodun Days, now recognised as the world’s leading international event dedicated to Vodun arts, culture and spirituality.
The first edition, held on 9 and 10 January 2024 in Ouidah, the historic cradle of Vodun, marked a major turning point, bringing together nearly 100,000 participants between the historic city and the coast, near the Gate of No Return. Buoyed by this momentum, the 2025 edition confirmed the scale of the dynamic by welcoming more than 435,000 participants, definitively establishing Vodun Days as an event of international significance.
Building on this success, Vodun Days will return in 2026 with a brand new edition that will take place over three days, from 8 to 10 January in Ouidah. The event will offer a rich and diverse programme, ranging from entertainment in the city centre and on the beach to the Grand Vodun Ceremony, concerts and shows, as well as many other surprises designed to offer the public an ever deeper immersion into the heart of this unique living heritage.
The Vodun Days village
The Vodun Days village will offer a diverse experience with numerous stands showcasing art, fashion, crafts, culture, spirituality and many other themes. Visitors will be able to explore a variety of unique creations and discover rich artistic and cultural expressions. There will also be catering facilities offering a selection of food and drink to ensure the comfort of participants throughout the festivities. The village will be a real crossroads of discoveries and encounters.
The Vodun Days campsite
The Vodun Days offers camping, a practical and friendly option for a fully immersive stay. By opting for this solution, visitors benefit from being close to the activities while soaking up the unique atmosphere of the event. The campsite is the perfect way to live the experience to the full, offering an authentic setting for creating unforgettable memories and making the most of every moment of the festivities.
